Americana and heritage

perhaps americans feel they have no heritage, but what about the 50's? a golden age for them.

american small diners, with the red leather stools and booths, drive-ins with the movie speaker on the window.. how can they not appreciate this?.. well they can and do! but perhaps having no heritage society of great note, hinders preservation.

a few should be saved, because and if your american reading this, in a hundred years your children will miss out on their heritage.

so will we have to watch back to the future to see these places? as a tourist would it be a good attraction? not like Vegas but a bit like seeing a Scottish Castle or an English Hamlet, with Tudor buildings.

just a suggestion..

thanks

Brands of car (ferrari ) competing for the £30k flyweight

I have been playing test drive unlimited for xbox and i have been thinking..

would it be cool for Ferrari to re-launch the Dino range, but aimed at the Lotus Exige, a flyweight car fast with the hammer down off the mark but with a comparatively small top speed 120-130 mph, but is amazing on corners and has ferrari styling? i would keep the stallion badge but have a yellow horse on a black background and based the body style loosely on the original Dinos, maybe 70's style :)

like some Ferrari's limit the color to red and special order black, perhaps it would make the Dino range specialer to limit the colours to Black and special order Yellow.

Dino could be a sub-brand of Ferrari, like Squire is to Fender in the guitar market :)
budget conscious but still designed to do a job well at that price, deigning all the perks but delivering some, and those perks are of the highest quality. the highest quality handling and immediate acceleration, but deigning a high top speed, inspiring respect for both brands. not just a budget ferrari, but a brand that gives a unique experience, a light car with italian styling. Ariel, Caterham, Lotus, in Britain what a niche :) for £30k we can experience the history of Rally versus F1 in these cars, I wonder if we could get a dog fight with the Italians? they seem the closest with Ferrari, but they are not £30k so... could they make a Dino for £30k to compete?

cable channels.. nostalgia

I know there are cable channels for nostalgia, but wouldnt it be cool to to get rid of those channels, and have channels that are the entire day/week/year.. this is hard to explain..

like take a day from 1980 and start showing the entire day from say ITV with old ads, with the current companies still paying for adverting, and if a company no longer exists or brand they play an equivelant commercial.

i would like two or three channels like this, not just mish mash of old shows, but say.. ITV 1980 as a channels name and if the year ends rename the channels ITV 1981.. just thinking there, it could be matched to a leap year and to the days maybe, but that would mean a 4 year thing with it landing on the same day.. so maybe not.

you get me right?

:D

Michael Jackson may he rest in peace

we had fun didn't we? we had a laugh, yeah :D

but now he has passed away last year, i feel we had our joke whilst he was alive. now time to be silent, remember he has a soul too, nothing was concluded in his case.. so if you guess, remember your just guessing :D

i felt he went OTT at times, like that thing with jarvis cocker, that was funny, although now he should be at peace, as we all had a slice of him in laughter.

I feel we owe him it, some final peace.

xbox 360 ideas

just thinking as xbox kinect is coming out soon, it also would be nice to have a little addition of Picture in Picture, so you could see what your friends where doing if you were chatting, they could okay you and you could see them running around getting shot and on fire lol and laugh together :)

also i would like to control the volumes for both game and headset, a mixer would be good for night time play, so i can plug a headset in and hear both my game and my friend at volumes i like.
i know the headset volume for listening to my friend is adjustable, i know i can put it through my headphones, but if the action is fierce..

a day dream

okay i have been daydreaming about this for a while

what if you had some Chinese no-name tech company, but they want to stand out from the crowd but also like cloning, so how about this they launch themselves as a cloning rival to Apple but call themselves 'Pear', Apple have MacIntoshes and Macintoshes are also a famous brand of apples, Pear could have Bartletts and instead of MacBooks have BartBooks, they could have Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx instead of 10.6 Snow Leopard, and have Cairo Dock instead of OSX Dock, they could have on their notebooks lid a glowing Pear with a bite out of it, they could include things apple did not, a sim card reader, sd card reader, very very large hdd (1TB)and 4 GB of RAM, also things apple did include like the large multi touch trackpad, and a top display.

just some daft thoughts :D

The Barometer to a child

Hi

this is something i feel is important, Temperament.

I have been musing on this for some months, perhaps since autumn last year.

excuse any trumpet blowing and inhumility, i say it to teach, not so you think i am a proud clown, sorry. it's more introspection than 'i think i am amazing, and you are pants'.

I have an 'Artistic Temperament' i think there other Temperaments, like a 'Practical Temperament' an 'Academic Temperament', also as i type i was trying to think of more because there MUST be more, perhaps a 'Social Temperament' please feel free to suggest more, even though i have no readers lol, anyhoo...

how is an Academic Temperament any different in genuity to a Practical one? I have an 'gifted' IQ but I marvel at men (or women) who strip a car and rebuild it, similarly with Academia, although I HATE the School system, which FYI is from the '40's (how can a School system from the forties not be anachronistic in 2010?)...... Why do I hate the School system, because it was NOT designed for me! it was designed for ACADEMIA, perhaps rightly so, but any tax money was wasted on me, well not all but perhaps a lot. my Artistic Temperament in School did not go well, i seemed dumb, maybe i was, i was certainly immature, but aren't kids supposed to be? I only ever learnt things that i already wanted to learn, so it was pretty useless trying to teach me anything unless i deeply respected you, like a mentor, no duh? huh? arty types like only ONE teacher, a mentor whom would never break there trust, not uniformity in class rooms, freedom to learn, not confinement to learn.

I was a little dumb weirdo, because no one seemed to care of my method of learning, my aunt whom i lived with was a school teacher and very very academic and strict, looking back i think she feared i was stupid, still today i can't spell lol and no, i am not dyslexic, it's just at the time in my childhood when i was 'supposed' to learn how to spell, i felt an Academic Claustrophobia like being a 3 year uni student in Primary 5 (10 yo), i just couldn't cope with the stress, and wanted to walk away, but felt forced imprisonment to the little jail of School. I have often said to others 'it's like prison for children' well it was to me in my day.

I used to sit around the back of the school starring at the form of stones and thinking alone, about time and life. I had no idea this was medtition..

schoolwise these children like me, are bored, not in the 'i have gotten bored of this toy', or 'i will cost you a lot of money' way, but in morale these children need enthusiasm, if you're a parent, YOUR enthusiasm, a deep kinship with there parents, children have an inherent nature to find out about there parents, you NEED them that is why you had them, in God and in Virtue they are your blessing, your world.

a child with a Practical Temperament , (and i will admit i am 'skating' here as i do not know what is is like to have such) likes to dismantle things and see how they work, (i liked to do this too, but i didn't really want to reassemble them lo)l such a child will have pride in himself or herself also in reassembly as well.

an Academic Temperament thrives in uniform learning and sharing what is learnt, an Artistic is introspective, so does not thrive on sharing information, but taking a long time to digest the information and then processing it in a unique way until it is ready to be shared with others.

my heart is too sore to write anything more, so CYaL :)

peace

Men undervalued men

I have felt this for a while, nobody seems to care anymore, men are becoming like the human appendix in western society, God will help us, but right now, what do women want?, well even though it is not true, men think: they want it ALL and men are no longer needed as a social part of female life.

Men need more hobbies, hobbies have left some of us in a way, which has hurt us socially, it has lead to increase in a viewing of pornography, because women also other men have forgotten that men are men in their nature and not women, and this leads to a lack of fathers lead to rogue children.

(if a women respects your hobby, if your woman respects your hobby, she will appreciate you, and you will be a better father, pornography is not a hobby, it is the evil poison in your gut that will kill you both.)

hobbies are forgotten about and disrespected. where are the fathers of these children?

laptops of the future/ Pic Dump

Keys are antiquated, i saw on BBC 'Click' programme an android app that enlarged the keys by predictive text,...I'm thinking 'why on earth do we need keys anymore??' a smart software and the lower part of the laptop as a huge touchpad would do the job better, remove all the keys and put a touchscreen/touchpad there, i have been thinking this because i saw that synaptics have a multitouch driver for linux, then i was thinking , why do not touch based companies do this? okay so apple have a hold on touch, but eventually with enough popularity they will have to give way to public demand and a lack a monopoly. no keys just a touchpad guessing your general direction your finger to guess to suggest a key.
